Emily Lechuga Gutierrez is a magna cum laude graduate of Texas Southern University, Thurgood Marshall School of Law. During her time at Thurgood Marshall, Emily interned at a Labor and Employment firm and participated in her law school’s Juvenile Lifers Without Parole program, a Human Rights Clinic that represents juvenile offenders who are serving life without parole in post-conviction appeals.
Emily is also a cum laude graduate of Texas A&M University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish with minors in Sociology and Women & Gender Studies and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. During her time at Texas A&M, Emily participated in a study abroad program where she spent a summer studying the Spanish language, history, art, and culture at the Centro de Lenguas Modernas, Universidad de Granada, in Spain.
At Smith Parker Elliott, PLLC Emily is versatile. She defends individuals and businesses who have been sued for personal injuries arising from motor vehicle accidents. Emily is also part of the firm’s Real Estate and Wills, Trusts, and Estates groups.
As a bilingual Spanish speaker, Emily is always happy to assist with the firm’s Spanish-speaking clients.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time with family.
